Recover your Roblox account

A Roblox username, a display name, and a parent's email can refer to different parts of the same family's setup. Before resetting a password, identify the actual username and the contact method attached to that account. This guide is for your own Roblox account or a child you are authorized to help.

Parents can sit with a young user while they follow the recovery screens. Keep the child's codes and account history private. For a missing second factor rather than a forgotten password, the general two-factor guide explains the distinction; Roblox's particular recovery options are below.

1. Send the reset to a contact method already on the account

Follow Roblox's forgotten-password instructions. From the login page, choose the password or username recovery option and enter the email address associated with the account. Use the phone tab if you previously added a phone number and that route is available.

Check spelling and country information before submitting. If several Roblox accounts use the same email, the recovery experience may ask you to select which one to reset. Match the username carefully instead of relying on an avatar or display name that could have changed.

Open the message in the mailbox you control and complete the official reset. Roblox says that an account without an attached email address or phone number cannot use this ordinary reset feature. Entering a parent's new email now does not retroactively verify it for an account that is already locked.

2. Distinguish a child's recovery email from a parent account

Roblox's email and phone verification guidance explains how contact details are verified. A parent helping an account for a younger child should check the actual recovery setup, including any parental recovery email. A linked parent account and an email verified on the child's account are not interchangeable evidence.

Look through the parent's own Roblox messages for the username and the contact relationship. This can clarify which address belongs in recovery without exposing the child's details to anyone else. Do not create another child account just because the first email you tried did not receive a message.

If no usable recovery destination exists, use the support route linked by Roblox's password article. Explain that you are trying to regain your own account, or describe your legitimate parental role. Supply requested ownership information through that form. Support will decide what evidence is sufficient; a screenshot of a public profile alone does not prove control.

3. Handle two-step verification after the password reset

The Roblox two-step troubleshooting article covers missing emails, authenticator problems, and recovery methods. Read the particular message you receive. A correct password followed by a verification request means that the second check still needs to be completed.

Use a previously saved recovery code or another configured method when Roblox offers it. If an authenticator was synchronized, recover that app through its own provider and verify that the Roblox entry works. Do not delete the entry on a still-working device while you are testing its replacement.

Roblox's recovery requirements can involve more than one distinct verification method. The supported choices depend on what was set up for the account. A reset email is not a universal substitute for an authenticator, and support cannot promise access based on a username or knowledge of a favorite game.

There may be no sufficient ownership evidence.

Roblox may be unable to recover an account when its available checks cannot establish ownership. No outside person can guarantee a result from Roblox support. Keep any working session and truthful account records available while the official case is reviewed.

If someone offers to recover Robux or the account

Treat a request for your password, browser data, verification code, or payment as a reason to stop. Free-currency offers and threats about a report can lead a young player away from the official recovery route. A parent can help verify the destination before the child shares anything.

If you suspect unauthorized access, explain that in the official support case and secure the associated email account. Do not send purchase details in a public chat. If Roblox requests transaction evidence, provide only what its own support process asks for, using records belonging to the account's legitimate owner or purchaser.

After you regain access

Verify a recovery contact you can maintain, review security settings, and store the current backup information safely. Parents should explain where the child should ask for help if another alarming message appears. Avoid saving the only recovery copy inside the account it is meant to rescue.

Login.com's Roblox sign-in guide provides the ordinary official entry point once the account works again. Test that the intended username opens and that a backup method is usable before closing the recovery case or discarding the old device.
